Did Calvin Harris pull a Taylor Swift??

World-renowned DJ Calvin Harris just released a brand new track titled "Olé", and oddly enough, it's about a breakup! Rumor has it that this is a diss song for ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift, whom Harris dated for 15 months. Although nothing in the song is specifically addressed to her, the lyrics sort of give it away.

"I see online that you've begun to be a good girl and take trips with your boyfriend, being attentive, continue to pretend."

"My heart speaks. I ain't seen you or been with you for weeks."

Ouch! I'm guessing he's talking about those lovely trips Taylor has been taking with her new beau, actor Tom Hiddleston (she even met his mother in his native U.K.....ummm...huh?). However a source has stated that Harris wrote this song months ago and that it has nothing to do with their breakup (riiight!). Even singer John Newman, who is featured on the track and Harris' longtime friend, said that it had been produced and written a long time ago.

Maybe the song isn't about Taylor, who knows?! Or maybe it is and he just wanted to let the public know what happened between them through the lyrics!? Regardless, I think what everyone is waiting to see is if Swift will respond and how; I hear she's known for writing songs about her personal experiences, including her exes!

Gone too soon: 22-year old 'The Voice' alum shot dead at her concert

Tragedy has struck the music scene once again. Just weeks after a fatal shooting took place at T.I's concert in New York City, another tragic event has taken place at a live show and as reported, the victim is the star herself. Former 'The Voice' singer and contestant Christina Grimmie was shot dead at her own concert in Orlando, Florida.

The 22-year old was signing autographs for her fans at a meet and greet when a man approached the singer and opened fire, and then shot himself dead. Grimmie was taken to a nearby hospital but sadly died from her injuries later that night. News of her death made headlines on social media as fans and celebrities have been expressing their grief and sadness over the young star's shocking death. 'The Voice' coach Adam Levine posted a picture on Instagram of himself and Christina with the caption "I'm sad, shocked and confused. We love you so much Grimmie. This just isn't fair."

This has happened far too many times now and in the wake of the gun violence debate, people are pleading for guns to be banned, especially after disturbing events like these occur. So what will it take to put an end to these senseless acts of violence? Another random shooting? Or perhaps a deadly massacre? Nonetheless, one thing is for sure; the longer we wait, the more innocent lives will be taken away.

Bad Boy for Life: a Trip Down Memory Lane

Rapper and hip hop mogul Sean "Puffy" Combs (or is it P. Diddy now?) announced earlier this year that he would be hitting the road and on Friday night, he kicked off his Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour in Brooklyn. Of course he won't be hitting the stage by himself as he decides to bring the whole Bad Boy Family with him: Total, 112, Carl Thomas, Faith Evans, The LOX, Lil’ Kim, and Mase, and give fans a taste of 90s nostalgia (those really were the best years in music!). The sold out show at Barclays Center also marked a celebration of the late Notorious B.I.G., on what would have been the eve of the rapper's 44th birthday.

Bad Boy Entertainment was founded in 1993 by Sean Combs, after he was fired from Uptown Records as an A&R executive. One of the label's biggest names, and premier star, was that of Biggie Smalls, a.k.a Notorious B.I.G. In 1995, he was dominating the charts and his Ready to Die album had achieved multi-platinum success. The record label continued its triumph with platinum releases by R&B girl group Total and singer-songwriter Faith Evans. The company started raising tensions in the hip-hop world, especially with Los Angeles-based Death Row Records, which created a rivalry between East Coast and West Coast hip-hop. Many speculate that the hostility between the two labels resulted in the deaths of both Biggie and Tupac Shakur, Death Row's superstar rapper.

Friday night was all about bringing the hip-hop family together and along came a few special guests. Diddy brought Brooklyn's own Jay-Z to the stage and just when he was about to perform his single "Public Service Announcement", he praised the Roc Nation founder as his 'strategist' and his 'brother'. The surprises continued as R&B singer Usher pulled up to the stage and belted out his hit song "I Need A Girl" and the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul herself miss Mary J. Blige came onto the scene as she sang "Real Love", "Be Happy", and "You Don’t Have to Worry", before thanking Diddy for his contributions to her career.

Puff Daddy is scheduled to bring his Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour to Toronto on September 6th at the Air Canada Centre.

Live with Kelly and....

Kelly Ripa, host of "Live with Kelly and Michael", will soon be saying goodbye to her morning co-host of almost 4 years. Michael Strahan, a retired football player, first co-hosted the show with Ripa, back in 2010, when he filled in for Regis who wasn't in that day. When Regis announced his retirement, the producers of the show had to go through many guest co-hosts after narrowing it down to Strahan, who not only won them over, but the viewers as well.

The show's ratings kept rising and the chemistry between both hosts was just incredible. In 2014, Michael became a regular on ABC's Good Morning America. He would contribute to the show during the last hour, and then make his way over to host the show with Kelly. However it seems he won't be doing this for long. On April 19, Strahan announced that he would be leaving the show to join Good Morning America on a full-time basis.

Despite the drama that has been unfolding since last week (especially Kelly's non presence from the show), Michael said he has nothing but love for the show, the staff and of course, for Kelly Ripa. As his last day approaches, the Live! team has decided to dedicate the entire May 13th show to Michael and share his best moments.

A list of potential guest co-hosts has already been released. We've learned that late night host Jimmy Kimmel will be the first one, followed by "Empire's" Jussie Smollett, comedian Cedric the Entertainer and reporter David Muir. For myself, it doesn't really matter; as long as the comedy and the chemistry are there, the show will still be part of my morning ritual.

Just wait on it

It was one year ago today that Drake had dropped the physical album version of "If You're Reading This It's Too Late", a mixtape he had released back in February of 2015. The album also featured collaborations with fellow OVO Sound member PARTYNEXTDOOR and hip hop artist Travis Scott. Upon its release, music critics gave the rapper a number of positive reviews, and soon after, a 5 city tour was announced by Drake himself, calling it 'The Jungle Tour', which he also brought to Toronto.

Fast forward to this year and Drake is still the talk of the town, or should I say...the world!! He is the biggest rapper in the industry right now and it seems that every move this guy makes becomes a headline on every social media outlet. For months now, he had been teasing everyone about his upcoming album titled 'Views from the 6'. From billboards in the city of Toronto, to pictures of him in the studio, Drake sure knows how to keep his fans waiting. However we can now say that the wait is finally over: 'Views from the 6' is set to be released on April 29.

So far, fans have been introduced to two songs: 'Pop Style', featuring Jay-Z and Kanye West, and 'One Dance' (my personal favorite). Once again, Drake is working with his usual crew, producers Noah "40" Shebib (his right hand man) as well as Boi-1da. However people are also hinting that the rapper may have also been in the studio with Kendrick Lamar and Willow Smith, after he posted some questionable pictures on his Instagram account. In a recent interview, Noah "40" revealed that the album will be what everybody wants and expects from Drake, and that it'll have new flows and new patterns.

For the fans, I'm sure the anticipation is killing them (I know it's killing me!); but for Drake, this will be just another one of his biggest accomplishments.

Ridin' Solo!

Boy bands have been around the music scene for a really long time. From New Edition, to the New Kids on the Block, to One Direction, being in a boy band sounds like a pretty cool gig. You've got screaming girls chasing after you, everybody wants to take your picture and your songs are always at the top of the charts. But what happens when a member of the group decides to go solo? In light of Zayn Malik leaving One Direction last year, let us reminisce the ones who took a shot at solo careers.

When it comes to breaking through as an artist after parting ways with your band mates, Justin Timberlake takes the crown! His solo career immediately took off when he released his 2002 album "Justified" and his genre went from bubble gum pop to R&B and even collaborated with the likes of Timbaland and The Neptunes. Since then, the singer has made a name for himself as an actor, a businessman, and co-founder of fashion label "William Rast". Way to go JT!

Timberlake wasn't the only member of the group to leave; fellow NSYNCer JC Chasez also took a shot at soloism but didn't quite make it. His titled album "Schizophrenic" bombed on the charts and JC has since become a producer/songwriter. He even wrote a song for the Backstreet Boys (hmm, how ironic!). Hey, we didn't say this was going to work for everybody!

When referring to boy bands, we always think that they consist of five guys but for this group, that isn't the case. The Jonas Brothers first came onto the scene in 2005, and were known to the public by making appearances on the Disney Channel. The trio included Kevin, Joe and Nick. After a hiatus in 2010, the band decided to pursue solo projects but it was Nick Jonas who stood out and has risen to the top since then. Not only did his hit single "Jealous" peak at number 7 on Billboard's Hot 100, he's also currently starring in the television drama series "Kingdom".

If Zayn really wants to succeed, he'll want to do some research on past boy band breakup stories. Very few have beat the boy band curse; and by very few, I mean Justin Timberlake. I do have to admit though, he's off to a great start. His single "Pillowtalk" debuted number 1 on the British charts and the music video...well, I'll let you guys be the judge!

Looking back at 2015!

My, oh my, what a year it has been for music, movies and entertainment overall. 2015 will be remembered for some major headlines; from meeting Caitlyn Jenner, to the biggest celebrity breakups we weren't expecting, to the viral 'how-to' guide on getting Kylie Jenner's famous pout (I knew I forgot to check something off my to-do list this month!). As we take a look back at this year's most memorable moments, let us reminisce the most talked about stories, shall we?

First on the list, and not surprisingly, the introduction of Caitlyn Jenner, formerly known as reality TV star Bruce Jenner. It wasn't long ago when Jenner sat down with ABC's Diane Sawyer and announced that he was in the process of becoming a woman. Months later, Vanity Fair revealed its cover for their June edition and the world got a glimpse of Caitlyn. Not only was she the most talked about celebrity, she even got her own reality series titled "I Am Cait", which has been renewed for a second season.

This next story is still ongoing and it looks like we'll still be hearing about it in 2016. Over the summer, it came as a shock to learn that one of America's most beloved TV dads, and star of the 80s sitcom "The Cosby Show", Bill Cosby, had been accused of sexually assaulting over 50 women. Some of these accusers included former models Beverly Johnson and Janice Dickinson, who both turned to the media to tell their story. Cosby has denied any wrongdoing and ever since news broke, several networks have decided to pull the plug on re-runs of the classic sitcom.

"It's Over", is the headline most magazines and celebrity websites used over this past year. It seems as though every month brought news of another couple's split; not to mention, couples that we rarely hear about, that keep a low profile. The biggest and most talked about breakup would have to be Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck. It was reported that Ben cheated on his wife with the family's nanny, but neither have commented on this story. The two were married for ten years and are parents to three young children. Other power couples that called it quits this year were actors Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green, and singer Gwen Stefani, who filed for divorce from her husband of 13 years Gavin Rossdale. Let's just hope Cupid gets it right in the new year!

March 25th, 2015, the day every young teenage girl's heart got broken and will be remembered as one of the worst days in boy band mania. Zayn Malik, from One Direction, had announced that he was leaving the group after five years. When asked why he was parting ways, he said it was due to stress and that he wanted to be a normal 22 year-old and enjoy some time away from the spotlight. At the time, Malik was engaged to singer Perrie Edwards from the girl group "Little Mix", and many had speculated that she had something to do with Zayn's departure. Even fans of One Direction went as far as dubbing Edwards as "the new Yoko Ono".

What can I say, this past year did have its ups and downs but when it comes to entertainment, it's nothing out of the ordinary! As we say goodbye to 2015 and  hello to 2016, we know we'll have more to read (and talk) about for another year! Let the countdown begin!
