A young talent aiming high

Montreal based singer-songwriter Oliver Charles is finally fulfilling his dream. Oliver realized he had a passion for music when he was a teenager and he taught himself how to play the guitar as well as the piano. After graduating from college, he got himself out onto the music scene by using his talent; his voice and his writing skills.

So far, the talented musician has released two EPs; "Rage of Fire" (2012) and his most recent one "Heart of Stone" (2014). His style of music is a mix of folk-pop and most of his songs are based on relationships, heartbreaks, and the highs and lows of life. His first single entitled "Don't Let Me Go", from his upcoming album dropping in early 2015, has a pop/rock/folk kinda sound to it that music lovers will surely enjoy. It's no surprise since his biggest musical influences are Mumford & Sons, Ed Sheeran and Christina Perri, just to name a few.

When performing live, Oliver is renowned for his charismatic stage presence. On December 14th, I had the chance to attend one of his live shows in Montreal at the Verre Bouteille Lounge. His interaction with the crowd was just incredible! He sang a variety of songs including the ballad "Desiring Flame", "Do You Mind", and the audience was lucky enough to get an exclusive acoustic version of "My Intention". Needless to say, Oliver Charles is an artist to look out for in 2015.

Beyonce: Singer, Actress and Role Model

Wouldn't you love to live like a celebrity? To have the fame, the fortune and live a luxurious lifestyle? Beyonce does it everyday and sometimes, she wishes she were anonymous.

In her new mini-documentary titled "Yours and Mine", the singer opens up about different subjects like body image, fame, feminism and her role as a mom and a wife. In the very beginning, Beyonce talks about being famous and how sometimes it's hard to do simple things like everyone else, for instance walking down the street by herself. Can you imagine not being able to walk somewhere by yourself? And having an entourage around you at all times? Wow, that is just crazy! She goes on by saying that when you're famous, you are not seen as a human; you become the property of the public.

While growing up, Beyonce didn't have it easy. She experienced a lot of drama and conflict in her life and the only way to escape from that was through music. While watching the documentary, the singer goes on about her upbringing and says something that really stood out and made me think; she said: "If I hadn't gone through some of the most painful experiences in my life.....I would not be me." I thought to myself 'that's true for everyone'. It's what we go through in life that makes us the person we are today, whether they are good or bad experiences.

For the last part of the short film, Beyonce dedicates it to the love she has for her music, her husband and her child. She loves doing what she does for a living as well as being a mom to Blue Ivy. She talks about marriage and how having somebody in your life to witness each other's ups and downs together is something amazing.

And the feud continues.....

Ever wonder what it's like to be caught in a love triangle? According to Chris Brown, his significant other might have the answer! Brown has accused his current (or ex-flame) Karrueche Tran of cheating on him while he was serving his time for 4 months. He claims that she visited him only once and the rest of the time, she would fly out to Toronto to attend different events and secretly meet up with rapper Drake. Karrueche turned to Instagram after seeing Brown's posts online and fired back at him by saying that if this was his way of loving her, that she didn't want it! Brown later apologized and it seems as though the pair has reconciled! This isn't the first time we see Drake and Chris Brown's names in the same article; back in 2013, the two got into a fight in a New York City nightclub over yup, you guessed it, another woman! This time, it was over songstress Rihanna. According to witnesses, Drake's pose sent over a bottle with a note on it that said he had "f****d his girl", which at the time was RiRi. It only took a couple of seconds for Brown to take out his anger and start throwing bottles towards the rapper's crew. 

If these events actually occurred, why would you make the same mistake twice? And why would you go public about it? Is this how anger management is supposed to be dealt with or is this just a publicity stunt? I guess we'll have to wait and see.
